Half-ton models now feature standard Hydroboost brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and newly styled optional 17-inch aluminum wheels. The trailering package now includes a 7-to-4-pin brake wiring adapter. For added safety, there is now a front passenger seatbelt reminder. Also, a sunroof and rear-seat entertainment system can be ordered together for the first time. Lastly, GMC has lowered the output figures for the Vortec 8100 -- the engine is now rated at 320 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

This Car Kicks Butt - 2004 GMC Yukon XL

She LOVED driving this car (we actually started out with the Yukon Denali and then bought the Yukon XL Denali.). Dont get me wrong, its a truck - its got the power of a truck and the size of a truck, but it is one, great luxury car.

By tony stuart - March 25 - 10:00 amNice ride,quiet,comfortable,duel air works great,tows whatever you want to tow and you can hardly tell you are towing and better fuel mileage than my 97 Tahoe at 65-75 mph but it drops like a rock if you go above that.Power is ok but next time Ill opt for the 6.0 ltr motor and I would strongly urge GM to offer the Duramax diesel which I would buy.

Denali Pros & Cons - 2004 GMC Yukon XL
By redvette1 - March 24 - 2:00 amThis GMC Denali is the 5th large GMC SUV that Ive owned in 18 years and is by far the very best. This is an effortless vehicle to drive despite the size. The all wheel drive was flawless over the winter. I find the gas miles to be acceptable given the weight and poor aerodynamics. In 12,000 miles of combined city/highway the average is 14.7 mpg with 87 octane fuel. So far, no complaints.
